The composition of the project
This network project consists of two routers 2 offices, 1 VMWARE ESX 4.1 hypervisor installed on a physical server in the data center, server 1 WINDOWS 2003 and 1 UNIX server as virtual machines installed on top of the hypervisor ESX 4.1.
The principle of operation
Each office is 1 router (only 2), which act as a firewall-router that provides Internet access, protects the office from outside intruders, and provides a secure VPN connection to the server in the data center. By using a VPN connection 2 offices and data centers form a working space, fully protected from outside intrusion. Access to the server is carried out by means of RDP protocol (Remote Desktop) and is possible if you enter the credentials of the user. Each user has a work desk, and a set of folders for use, which is completely protected from access by other users. On the server, the user can work in the office programs, graphics editors, accounting software, and print documents from the server. Also installed on the server process software SAVERIS, which acts as the analyzer data sent from the temperature sensors installed in two offices. Access to the server is possible both from the company's offices and from home or laptop. For a laptop, you must install a program to create a VPN connection, and then, when the connection is successful, given access to the server.
